The Mathers/Golden Dawn recipe is food safe, and less irritant than the Crowley recipe, though you will want to take care getting it in your eyes etc due to the high quantity of cinnamon oil.

Based on the anointing oil recipe given in Exodus to Moses and Aaron for the establishment of the first temple, this oil and its variants have been used for millennia as temple oil in Jewish and Christian traditions, before becoming a ubiquitous Magickal consumable thanks to the GD and Thelema.

Traditional uses include anointing for divination, consecration, and anointing for healing.

This is the most sacred thing I produce, and every batch contains a few drops of the oil I produced during my own Abramelin retreat in 2018
